Rolling with Laughter

Maybe it is the early childhood educator in me, but I have turned a lot of things with Addi into a game--some of which I am trying to undo. For example, we pretend that her plate is ours and she has to sneak bites of vegetables, etc. before we see her. Another thing we do especially when we are in a huge hurry is race to get ready faster than the other person--either Addi vs Daddy or Addi vs. Mommy. Well, yesterday she got dressed and I did her hair and she brushed her teeth and she got her shoes on before I could get mine on and load the baby into the car seat and she says with a big smile on her face:

"Mommy I winned you" and I very disapointedly said "OH MAN, How come you always win me?" and she looks at me with a very straight face and says "Cause that's how I roll mom!" Where does she hear this stuff????? I asked her if that's what she said and she looked really embarassed like she had said a bad word or something and I just started cracking up and she got this wierd nervous laugh like am I in trouble or am I hilarious?

That is so funny! I'm amazed at what kids pick up from conversations...and even more amazed that they know how to use the phrases in the right context!
