Grief

Chad and I both lost friends this week. Chad had to attend a visitation for an old friend on the same day that one of our close friends passed (I will never know how hard that must have been). As the sadness comes and goes in waves, the memories are strong and we are grateful to have known both friends. This post is not intended for sympathy of any kind, just a place for me or Chad to come when we need a good cry.

It's so curious: one can resist tears and 'behave' very well in the hardest hours of grief. But then someone makes you a friendly sign behind a window, or one notices that a flower that was in bud only yesterday has suddenly blossomed, or a letter slips from a drawer... and everything collapses. ~Colette

There are things that we don't want to happen but have to accept, things we don't want to know but have to learn, and people we can't live without but have to let go. ~Author Unknown

When you are sorrowful look again in your heart, and you shall see that in truth you are weeping for that which has been your delight. ~Kahlil Gibran

How lucky I am to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard. ~Carol Sobieski and Thomas Meehan, Annie

“Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.”
Dr. Seuss quotes

"We'll be Friends Forever, won't we, Pooh?' asked Piglet.
Even longer,' Pooh answered."
— A.A. Milne (Winnie-the-Pooh)

This song was written for Angie from a poem she wrote. This was one third of the video segment at the funeral.
